2 House Guests and a Wedding

A couple weeks ago Jordan and I took a trip home to Iowa for the first time since we moved to CT.  We went home for Mallory and Nick's wedding over the 4th of July weekend.  It was such a fun weekend and a beautiful wedding!  I had the privilege to be a part of the wedding as a bridesmaid and I was so happy to share the day with Mal.  She was one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen and the whole wedding turned out great and was so much fun.  Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Mohwinkle!

It was great for both of us to be able to go home and visit our families for the holiday weekend.  The only downfall is we had to fly back on the 4th of July so we weren't able to do any celebrating for the holiday.  We were able to see fireworks from the plane though which was really cool, and it made it feel like it was the 4th.

After we returned from good ol' Cedar Rapids we welcomed our first friend visitors, Amy and Mike.  They were visiting Mike's parents in MA for a week and took the time to drive down to see us for a day.  They came down for dinner and a sleep over in the apt so we took them to dinner at Julio's Woodfire Grill and were able to have some great time the 4 of us.  Although it had been about 3 months since the 4 of us were together it felt like no time had passed and with Amy and I at the same table there was no quiet time, we had lots of catching up to do.  It was so nice having friends come to visit and to be able to show off our new home to them.  Although Jordan had to work the next day since it was a week day, the rest of us went down to Fairfield CT to the beach for the day.  It was my first trip to the CT beaches since we moved here and I was in heaven the whole time.  It was so nice being on a beach again, I forgot how much I missed it.  I also was so happy to realize just how close the beach is and how easy it is to make a trip to it for the day.  We had such a great time having our friends coming to visit and thank them so much for taking the time to drive down during their visit home!

Other then these two exciting events we are just living life in CT as usual.  Jordan's still working hard and working a lot, but still loves his job.  I am still searching for a job and playing the role of "The Real House Girlfriend of Connecticut".  We are very excited for our upcoming visitors, Lindsey and John in a couple of weeks and my parents at the beginning of Aug.
