Friday night we used our new grill to cook dinner. I am on the 3rd floor and have a porch but we can't use the grill up on the porch because it is to close to the siding, so we carry the grill down the stairs and cook right outside the door on the lawn. It turns out to be really nice because we open our windows so you can still smell the grill and we can still chat from the apt to the lawn, so it feels like we are just grilling out in our back yard. We had a very tasty meal with chicken from the grill out on our patio in the very nice weather.
My apartment is the top windows and the little porch you can see on the corner
Saturday was a pretty laid back day, being it was the first day of Jordan's work. He was pretty tired after working and I was in a bit of a fog due to muscle relaxants that I was on (I had a back spasm and had to go the doctor, but everything is ok now). We were able to try a new pizza place in the area though called Pit Road Pizza the whole restaurant is nascar theme, I know pretty classy. It was new york style pizza with huge slices, but was really good!
Today was a scorcher, 89 degrees, so we thought why not get outside in this warm weather and have a picnic. So after packing up lunch and doing some research of where the park is in town we took off driving. About 30 min later we were driving down a dirt road that dead ends into a man's house who was not very happy that we were turning around in his driveway. It kind of reminded us of a sceen straight out of Deliverance, but we made it out safe with no one chasing after us with a shotgun. We finally found a very nice park on the other side of Main Street that we were able to have our picnic in. Zoey really enjoyed doing some sun bathing outside while we ate our lunch.
Tonight we are heading to a restaurant in town called Carmen Anthony's Fishhouse, where on sunday's they have half price bottles of wine! It's a big night because Jordan doesn't have to be at work until 6am tomorrow instead of 5:30am! So we are planning to do up the town big! ;)
Pit Road Pizza... no Pizza Castle???
